Teen charged in February murder of Huffman High School student
An arrest has been made in the murder of a Huffman High School student last month.
On Wednesday, detectives obtained a capital murder warrant for a 17-year-old boy in the deadly shooting of Ronald Bennett Jr., 18, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
Just after midnight on Feb. 1, officers responded to Shot Spotter Alerts in the College Hills community. They arrived at a home on 8th Terrace West, where they found Bennett shot to death near a wrecked vehicle.

Police believe the Huffman High senior was targeted.
The teen charged in the shooting is currently being held at the Ross G. Bell Juvenile Detention Center on an unrelated charge and will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail, where he will be held without bond.
