After a stormy night, rain lingers across Alabama this morning. Once the rain and clouds clear, temperatures will climb near normal. Check the video for the latest forecast.
IMPACT WEATHER: MORNING RAIN LINGERS
The 米兰体育 13 Weather Team has declared Monday an Impact Day for central Alabama due to the lingering rain impacting your morning routine.
After strong storms swept across Alabama last night, residual showers linger across southern Alabama. A thin layer of water covers the roadways, so take it slow. With a few showers still present, you may want to grab your rain jacket and umbrella on your way out the door. The severe weather threat is over. The last remaining showers should clear by 9 AM.
SPRING BREAK: WARM DAYS AHEAD
If you have spring break plans across Alabama this week, it will be filled with warm weather, pollen, and a calm coast.
If you are headed to the coast, the National Weather Service Mobile Office (NWS) outlines the coast under a low risk for rip currents all week.
Once the rain clears and clouds fade, temperatures will soar. Highs will climb near 70 degrees, around average for the third week of March. You'll notice plenty of tree pollen appearing as warm, dry weather settles in from the northwest.
The overall weather pattern favors higher-than-normal temperatures through next weekend and into early April.
WEEKEND FORECAST
As temperatures continue above normal through next weekend, moisture combined with some upper-level lift could lead to a few scattered showers Saturday and isolated storms on Sunday. Some sunshine will peak through the clouds Saturday, but overcast skies take over Alabama starting Sunday.
A better chance for severe weather returns the following Monday, March 31. April is the peak of tornado season in the South. Things can change quickly this time of year, so we will keep watch on it for you.
