FLIGHTS UP 7% AND CRUISES ARE UP 27% FROM LAST YEAR. BUT DESPITE THE HIGH JUMP IN CRUISE PRICES, THEY EXPECT A RECORD YEAR FOR CRUISING. Spring break travel season is underway, and many Alabamians are heading to the Gulf Coast, but AAA Alabama notes that some are choosing Caribbean resorts for better deals."You get to see a different part of the world. The sand and the water is a little different down there. Extremely beautiful. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. If you can do that and do something a little different and save a couple thousand dollars, then it's well worth looking into," says Clay Ingram of AAA Alabama.AAA Alabama expects an influx of people flying to their destinations. They also say the roads will be really busy. Wherever you go, it will be more expensive than ever.AAA Alabama says costs are up across the board.Hotel prices are up about eight percent from last year. Flights are up seven percent.
