Over 400,000 bottles of over the counter medication have been recalled due to issues with childproofing, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The packaging did not meet the requirements in the poison prevention packaging Act. Around 137,000 units of Walgreens brand acetaminophen, and over 25,000 units of Progress brand Arthritis Pain acetaminophen were recalled by aero health reports. The Hill Time Cap Labs also recalled over 209,000 units of Kroger brand Aspirin and ibuprofen and sun pharma recalled nearly 34,000, 660 units of Kroger brand acetaminophen. The recall said the packaging of the product is not child resistant poison, the risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young Children. The recalled over the counter medications have been sold nationwide.

A Walgreen's pain reliever is being recalled because of its risk to children.The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that the New Jersey-based importer AuroHealth is recalling Walgreens brand Acetaminophen due to failure to meet child-resistant packaging requirements. The insufficient packaging, the CPSC said, poses a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.The recall includes roughly 137,300 units that were sold at Walgreens stores nationwide from October 2021 through April 2022 for about $9. The bottle has a red continuous thread gear closure.UPC number 311917218090 and Lot numbers P2100627, P2100671, P2100672, P2100689 P2100747, P2100859 (each with expiration date Nov-2022) and P2200050 (with expiration date Jan-2023) are included in this recall. The UPC number, lot numbers and expiration date are printed near the drug facts panel on the label on the back of the bottle, according to the recall notice.The drug is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma Limited, of Telangana, India.Currently, there are no injuries or deaths that have been reported.Consumers should immediately store the recalled products in a safe location out of reach and sight of children, and then contact Aurohealth for information on how to return the product at your nearest Walgreens store to receive a full refund.
