"Thinking about recidivism, in not only helping them to find a job, but helping them with their barriers because it's not just finding a job, it's making sure they have transportation, you know, the clothes and equipment that they need, helping them with time management and understanding what punctuality and their attendance policies are, and helping them to think through what excuses are and developing those effective means of communication," said Quiwintre Frye, the executive director for STRIVE.
The students in this class all obtained forklift operations certifications. Some are seeking certifications for fiber optics installation as well.
"All of the students, while some of them have not started work, all of them have been offered employment opportunities and so, they're excited about that," said Frye.
