IT鈥橲 BEEN FOUR DAYS SINCE JASON HAMRICK DIED. LIKE THIS WHOLE THING IS A DREAM, A NIGHTMARE DREAM. BUT NO ONE KNOWS THAT FEELING MORE THAN HIS WIFE, JACKIE. SHE SAYS HER HUSBAND DIED FROM COMPLICATIONS OF A BACTERIAL EAR INFECTION ON WEDNESDAY. WE WEREN鈥橳 READY. WE WEREN鈥橳 EXPECTING IT. NO WARNING SIGNS, REALLY. SO IT鈥橲 BEEN. IT鈥橲 BEEN WEIRD. AND I鈥橫 EVEN LEARNING STORIES, EVEN THOUGH I KNEW A LOT OF THEM. SCOTT REGISTER SAYS JASON WASN鈥橳 JUST A COLLEAGUE. HE WAS A LIFELONG FRIEND. BEING IN A ROOM FULL OF OTHERS WHO LOVED HAMRICK IS HELPING HIM GRIEVE. SEEING ALL THESE MUTUAL FRIENDS, SEEING PEOPLE HAVEN鈥橳 SEEN IN A WHILE, AND REMEMBERING HOW WE. KNEW JASON AND HOW WE MET EACH OTHER. AND IT鈥橲 THIS IS THIS IS THERAPEUTIC FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE. THOSE CLOSEST TO HIM SAY, JASON WON鈥橳 BE REMEMBERED FOR THE WORK HE DID PROFESSIONALLY, BUT FOR THE WAY HE HELPED THOSE AROUND HIM. JASON WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR EVERYBODY, WHETHER IT WAS IN THE MUSIC SCENE OR NOT. IF YOU PUT OUT AN APB, I NEED THIS. I NEED THAT YOU GENERALLY WOULD HEAR FROM HIM FIRST. JACKIE SAYS THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE IS NOT A FINAL SENDOFF. I鈥橵E ALREADY GOTTEN PEOPLE SENDING ME SONGS. HE HAD A LOT OF UNFINISHED MUSIC THAT I PLANNED TO FINISH, SO I鈥橫 REALLY EXCITED TO BE THE AMBASSADOR OF HIS LEGACY, CEMENTING IT IN BIRMINGHAM鈥橲 CREATIVE FABRIC FOR YEARS TO COME. HIS LEGACY IS THAT HE WAS LOVED BECAUSE HE GAVE LOVE IN BIRMINGHAM.
