THE BJCC VENUES ARE BUSY. PARKING CAN BE A CHALLENGE. JUST ASK JOHN KONG ABOUT HER EXPERIENCE TO SEE THE MUSICAL CHICAGO. WE鈥橵E BEEN LIKE, KEEP AROUND AND AROUND FOR 30 MINUTES TO FIND THIS PARKING SPOT, AND THEN WE PARK AT THE LIKE 20 MINUTES, WALK AWAY FROM HERE. NOW THE BJCC IS ADDING THE COCA-COLA AMPHITHEATER TO ITS PORTFOLIO. THERE WILL BE FOUR NEARBY PARKING DECKS, ALONG WITH SOME FUTURE PARKING LOTS. A TOTAL OF 3500 SPACES IN ALL, BUT AT AN AVERAGE OF TWO PEOPLE PER VEHICLE. THAT LEAVES THE NEED FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED MORE PARKING SPOTS. SO THIS WEEK, THE BJCC ANNOUNCED THEY ARE WORKING ON A PLAN TO SHUTTLE FOLKS THREE BLOCKS UP FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT. THE OPPORTUNITY TO TO VISIT THOSE RESTAURANTS AND WHATEVER OTHER KIND OF PRESHOW THINGS WE MAY DO, AND THEN JUST HAVE A NICE SYSTEM TO BE ABLE TO MOVE THEM THOSE THREE BLOCKS THROUGH SOME KIND OF SHUTTLE AND NOT HAVE TO WALK. BJCC VISITOR SUZANNE MCCOMB SAID IF THE SYSTEM IS RUN SMOOTHLY, IT SHOULD WORK. SO I THINK IF THERE鈥橲 ENOUGH PARKING HERE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT AND THEN THEY HAVE ENOUGH SHUTTLES TO GET PEOPLE THERE AND BACK, I THINK PEOPLE WOULD DO IT. PEOPLE LIKE GARY CHOI AND HER FRIEND ZHANG, WHO WANT TO AVOID ANY MORE 20 MINUTE WALKS TO SEE A SHOW. DO YOU LIKE THE IDEA OF MAYBE COMING TO THE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT AND EATING DINNER HERE, AND THEN GETTING A RIDE UP TO THE CONCERT? YEAH, YEAH, FOR ALL, FOR ALL. LIKE RESTAURANTS THAT CONCERTS AREA, THAT WOULD BE REALLY GREAT. AS FOR THE TWO DECKS OWNED BY THE BJCC, THIS ONE CONNECTED TO THE AMPHITHEATER. WORK ON IT IS 50% DONE. AND THIS EIGHT STORY DECK BEHIND ME HAS RECEIVED A FRESH COAT OF PAINT. WE鈥橰E TOLD BOTH SHOULD BE READY IN TIME FOR THE FIRST CONCERT IN JUNE I
