TO RECOVER. ALL RIGHT. QUICK THINKING BY A NINE YEAR OLD HAMILTON BOY SAVES THE LIVES OF HIS PREGNANT MOTHER AND HIS UNBORN BABY SISTER. AND TONIGHT, WLWT NEWS FIVE鈥橲 DAISY KERSHAW SAT DOWN WITH THE VERY GRATEFUL PARENTS WHO WERE CALLING HIM A HERO. HI, DAISY. HI, THERE. SHEREE. JUST HOURS AFTER MOM NIKKI WARE PASSED OUT INSIDE HER HAMILTON HOME, SHE GAVE BIRTH HERE AT KETTERING HEALTH TO A LITTLE GIRL IN THE FAMILY IS JUST INCREDIBLY THANKFUL THEY鈥橰E BOTH SAFE AND DOING WELL. DOCTORS SAY THAT THEIR NINE YEAR OLD SONS, CALLED 911, HELPED SAVE THEIR LIVES. MY MOM COULD HAVE DIED ON MAY 2ND, 35 WEEKS INTO HER PREGNANCY. HAMILTON MOM NIKKI WARE SUFFERED A LIFE THREATENING COMPLICATION. I HEARD THIS BIG THUMP, SON OLIVER FOUND HIS MOM LYING ON THE FLOOR UNCONSCIOUS. I WAS PANICKING, MOVING HER BACK AND FORTH. I WAS SAYING, MOM, MOM, HE JUST GOTTEN HOME FROM SCHOOL. DAD, JEFF WAS STILL AT WORK. I CALLED 911. WHAT鈥橲 THE ADDRESS OF THE EMERGENCY? I WAS STILL JUST IN DISBELIEF. MY MOM WAS ON THE RESTROOM AND SHE JUST PASSED OUT. AND I NEED YOUR HELP. I TOLD HER EVERYTHING THAT WAS GOING ON. SHE REALIZED THAT I WAS JUST A KID. THE CALLER WAS NINE YEARS OLD. IS SHE AWAKE RIGHT NOW? OH, IS SHE BREATHING? YEAH. OKAY. I鈥橫 JUST SUPER NERVOUS BECAUSE SHE鈥橲 PREGNANT. SHE鈥橲 PREGNANT? YEAH. WE鈥橰E GOING TO CHECK HER BREATHING TOGETHER. WE鈥橰E GOING TO DO A TEST. DOCTORS SAY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE CAUSED NIKKI TO SUFFER MULTIPLE SEIZURES, WHICH COULD HAVE CUT OXYGEN FLOW TO BABY RILEY. HE HAD TO SAVE MOMMA AND HIS SISTER. AND THAT鈥橲 WHAT HE DID. LIKE, TO ME, THAT鈥橲 THE DEFINITION OF A HERO. THIS BIG BROTHER PROTECTING HIS BABY SISTER FROM DAY ONE. I鈥橵E ALWAYS WANTED A SIBLING, AND I WAS LIKE, IT鈥橲 FINALLY TIME. I鈥橫. DURING A LESSON AT SCHOOL, HE鈥橲 ACTUALLY GOING TO BE GOING INTO FOURTH GRADE IN THE FALL AT FAIRWOOD ELEMENTARY, AND HIS PARENTS ARE JUST SO INCREDIBLY PROUD OF HIM. A 9-year-old boy's quick thinking saved the life of his pregnant mother and his unborn baby sister.His family in Hamilton, Ohio, is now calling him their hero."My mom could have died,鈥� said Oliver Ware.On May 2, 35 weeks into her pregnancy, Niki Ware passed out inside their Hamilton home.Oliver had just gotten home from school, and his dad, Jeff Ware, was still at work.鈥淚 called 911,鈥� Oliver said, thinking back to the day. High blood pressure caused Niki to have multiple seizures. Doctors say that call helped to save her and baby Riley鈥檚 lives.Complications from seizures can cut the oxygen flow to the baby, doctors said.鈥淗e had to save his mama and his sister, and that's what he did. Like to me, that's the definition of a hero,鈥� said Oliver鈥檚 dad.Oliver is going into fourth grade and says he learned how to call 911 and what to do in an emergency during a lesson at school.His parents are incredibly proud, saying they rest easy knowing that Riley has Oliver for a big brother."Good to know I've got this guy here.
