THEY APPROVED THE MEASURE TODAY AFTER TAKING PUBLIC COMMENTS EXPRESSING THE NEED FOR A LARGER SPACE. THEY SAY WHEN THE PROJECT IS COMPLETE, THE COMMUNITY COULD USE THE FACILITY WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION. Residents in Montevallo are one step closer to seeing a gymnasium upgrade at the high school.The Montevallo City Council held a special session Monday night to hear public comments regarding plans for construction of a new gym at Montevallo High School.After listening to several citizens in favor of a new gym, the council voted unanimously to approve a resolution authorizing the allocation of Montevallo Cooperative District Funds (MDCD) in the project.The city agreed to pay up to $2 million in the agreement which shares building costs with the Shelby County Board of Education.The current gymnasium at the high school was built in 1964, the city resolution stated.Another meeting is expected in April to discuss more details.Your neighborhood: Local coverage from 米兰体育 13
