Amazon Prime Day is one of the biggest sales events of the calendar year, with Prime members anticipating major price cuts on high-ticket items ranging from vacuums and air purifiers to AirPods and air fryers.With Prime Day taking place in July, we thought it would be good to share with you what we know so far about this year's Prime Day and what you can expect. We will be updating this story with the latest information we learn. What are the dates of Amazon Prime Day 2025?We don't know just yet. We do know Prime Day will be happening in July. Amazon officials announced back in May that some of the best deals of the summer will be taking place during their Prime Day 2025 event. According to Amazon officials, Prime members will be able to take advantage of deep discounts across nearly three dozen categories which include electronics, kitchen, apparel and even back-to-school shopping essentials. Prime Day will be a global event again, taking place in countries such as Canada, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Amazon officials said that for the first time, Prime members in Ireland can shop Prime Day deals. Historically, Prime Day has taken place during the second Tuesday and Wednesday of July. In 2024, Prime Day took place from July 16-17 to coincide with Amazon’s 20th anniversary. Based on past dates, Prime Day 2025 could take place from July 8-9 or from July 15-16. We’ll be sure to keep you updated once more information is released. Do I need to be a Prime member for Amazon Prime Day 2025?Yes.Prime Day is exclusive to Amazon Prime members. That means that Prime members will be able to score the deep discounts offered during the sales event. You can join Prime for $14.99 per month, or pay $139 per year if you decide to go for the annual membership (which saves you $40 annually compared to the monthly cost). Young adults (ages 18-24) and college students can try a discounted Prime membership with a six-month trial period, then pay a discounted rate of $7.49 per month, or $69 per year (which saves you $20 annually compared to the monthly membership). What deals can I expect?We won’t know what deals we can expect until we get closer to the event, but Amazon officials did reveal a couple of details surrounding Prime Day deals. First, Prime members will be able to take advantage of deep discounts across dozens of categories. Officials said those categories include electronics (so think AirPods, laptops and TVs), kitchen (air fryers, stand mixers and cooking essentials), and beauty products (could see Crest 3D Whitestrips go back on sale). Second, officials emphasized in their Prime Day announcement that parents will be able to get an early start on Back-to-School shopping during Prime Day, so you can anticipate school supplies and any dorm essentials for college students going on sale during Prime Day.According to Amazon officials, during Prime Day 2024, Prime members shopped deals from popular brands like Sol de Janeiro, Apple, Dyson, and Ring, as well as small businesses, including TruSkin, ALOHA, Blueland, and Native Pet.
