Worried about sneaker prices rising? We've got the saving sections to know about from every retailer
Uncertainty around tariffs and the start-pause of 鈥渞eciprocal鈥 tariffs from the Trump administration has led to many consumers being on edge about what the cost of goods and services could look like. One product that鈥檚 gotten a lot of attention is sneakers. That鈥檚 because according to the Associated Press, about 97% of the clothes and shoes purchased in the U.S. are imported, predominantly from Asia. The AP cited the American Apparel & Footwear Association鈥檚 most recent data, and some of those major companies that do import from Asia are lululemon, Nike and Walmart. According to MarketWatch, when President Donald Trump revealed his 鈥渞eciprocal鈥 tariffs on Apr. 2, it prompted rush spending from sneaker enthusiasts. Trump has since enacted a 90-day pause on those tariffs, but the pause does not include China, whose products are subject to a minimum 145% tariff.
