Woman charged in Northport head-on DUI crash; juvenile killed, 2 adults injured
A woman is in jail charged in a deadly head-on crash that tied up a Northport road for hours Friday morning.
Officers were called about the wreck involving two vehicles at about 2:45 a.m. on Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard at the Hugh R. Thomas Bridge, according to police.
A juvenile was killed, and two adults were taken to DCH with critical injuries.

Investigators say that Rachael Robinson, 29, was driving the wrong way, northbound in the southbound lane, on the bridge when she hit the other vehicle head-on.

Because of the suspicion that Robinson was under the influence, the Northport Police Department鈥檚 Traffic Reconstruction Unit requested the Violent Crimes Unit to investigate.
After police processed the scene and presented evidence to the district attorney鈥檚 office, Robinson was charged with manslaughter, two counts of assault, and driving under the influence.

She is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond.
Because the person killed is a minor, their name has not been released.
