48 residents displaced after fire damages apartment building near Center Point
A fire at a Center Point apartment complex Saturday displaced 48 residents, according to Battalion Chief Chris Horn with the Center Point Fire District.
Firefighters battled the fire at the Park at Carson apartments near Carson Road and Pinson Valley Parkway just before 5 p.m.
Horn said no injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was on the scene to assist the residents.
The fire started in a ground-floor apartment and spread quickly, Horn said, reaching the attics of two upper-level apartments. In total, four of the eight units received extensive damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, Horn said it's not believed to be an act of arson.
