A giant panda cub was born shortly before midnight on June 21 at a conservation base in Chengdu, China, marking the first cub born in captivity this year.Chinese state media Xinhua reported the baby panda's birth.Both the mother, Linglang, who is a first-time mother, and her newborn are reported to be in good health.
