New research is detailing just how much children love to play. The study conducted by Talker Research on behalf of the Goddard School found that the average child spends about 10 hours playing with their parents, others, and on their own on any given day. This totals nearly 3650 hours of play every year. Parents of children ages 0 through 6 revealed that 3/4 of parents still believe that isn't enough and when. Their child to spend more time engaging in creative free playtime. 92% of parents say their child's play is important for their overall growth and development. 31% say physical play, such as dancing or ball games is the top choice for favorite types of play. Though they may be considered childhood staples for some, games with rules such as Duck Duck Goose and board games were found to be the least favorite type of play today.

They restrict snacks and drinks in the sandbox areas. 鈥淭here鈥檚 something special about getting lost in playtime. And for our kids, it鈥檚 never taken more than trucks and a pile of dirt (or sand). We created Little Diggers for children to enjoy an immersive, hands-on play experience that excites both their senses and imagination," founder Zach Bowers said in a statement on the Little Diggers website.For parents, the playground offers free Wi-Fi, coffee offerings and seating. Admission is per child, is priced per half-hour or hour and starts at $12.
