Hoover's Reniya Kelly returns to Birmingham with North Carolina in Sweet 16
For years and years she's just *** hard worker, so it's very special to see her get here and lead her team here on such *** big stage. She deserves it. Going back to the car wash, and I can remember saying, hey, we gotta pack up and we're gonna be gone all weekend. We gotta spend, you know, hotel money and food, but you know we think about it. It just was so worth it, you know, just to see the hard work paying off, you know, the fruits of her labor, you know, being able to showcase that in front of her family, her friends, you know, everybody don't know the journey, they don't know how hard she worked, you know how many hours she was in the jam. You know, fighting through injuries and being able to recover and come back and still able to play and help lead her team um to the Sweet 16, so I mean it's been amazing. um I'm just thankful. I just praise God each and every day, um, that he's allowed her to make it this far.

"The humbleness, the gratefulness like she's just such an amazing kid. She always puts God first," Mitchell said.

While the Tar Heels season came to a close, this journey is just beginning.
