Hormel Foods recalls 256,000 pounds of canned beef stew
Hormel Foods is recalling more than 256,000 pounds of canned beef stew that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically wood.

from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, the recalled covers 20-ounce metal cans of Dinty Moore Beef Stew with a best-by date of February 2028 and a lot code of "T02045" printed on the can. The lot code may have an additional number at the end.
The USDA announcement says the recalled products were distributed to stores nationwide and have establishment number "EST 199G" printed on the can.
The problem was discovered when Hormel notified the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service about three consumer complaints about pieces of wood in the beef stew.
According to the USDA, there have been no confirmed reports of injury due to consumption of this product.
The USDA is advising the public not to consume this product if it's in their pantries. Instead, it should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
