Judge issues order halting issuance of medical cannabis integrated facility licenses
The process of issuing certain licenses regarding medical cannabis in Alabama has come to a temporary stop.
A judge in Montgomery issued a temporary restraining order in a legal case involving several organizations vying for an integrated facility license and the Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission.
According to court documents, those organizations are legally challenging the process in which companies were chosen for the integrated licenses, which was completed Dec. 12, 2023.

The AMCC defines an integrated facility being able to cultivate, process, dispensing, and sale to registered recipients.
The court documents go on to state the AMCC held a meeting Dec. 28, and decided not to stop the licensure process.
The judge has set a Jan. 24 hearing on this matter.
