'Keep praying': Sipsey residents continue recovery efforts after tornado

AND WHILE WE鈥橰E TALKING ABOUT THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER, ONE CITY IS STILL RECOVERING FROM THE DISASTROUS STORMS THAT WE HAD JUST WEEKS AGO. 米兰体育 13 S BRYCE OSELEN WENT OUT TO THAT COMMUNITY TODAY AS RESIDENTS ARE PREPARING FOR TONIGHT鈥橲 STORMS. PEOPLE IN THE TOWN OF SIPSEY CONTINUE TO REBUILD AFTER MULTIPLE TORNADOES STRUCK THE STATE OF ALABAMA. PEOPLE I SPOKE WITH SAY THEY WILL NEVER FORGET THE WEATHER THAT DESTROYED THEIR COMMUNITY. I WAS SITTING RIGHT UP THERE ON THE ON THIS LOT AND SAW SOME STUFF BLOW BY THE TRUCK, AND I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR. I WAS SITTING FACING THE ROAD, AND I SEEN THE FUNNEL CLOUD. AS IN FORMING AND KIND OF DROPPING OUT OF THE SKY. JONATHAN ROY LEE GREW UP IN THE TOWN OF SIPSEY AND SAYS HE WATCHED THE TORNADO DESTROY HIS COMMUNITY UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. I PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK OR IN DRIVE AND STOMPED ON THE GAS TRYING TO TRYING TO GET AWAY, AND THE TRUCK KIND OF SPUTTERED A LITTLE BIT, AND AT THE SAME TIME IT DID THAT. I LOOKED IN MY MIRROR AGAIN AND SEEN THAT OAK TREE RIGHT THERE FALLING ON MY COUSIN鈥橲 HOUSE. THE AFTERMATH STILL REMAINS. EVERYBODY鈥橲 A WORKING TOGETHER OR WHATEVER WE GOT TO DO TO GET THINGS TO WHERE WE CAN. SALVAGE WHAT鈥橲 LEFT. People in the town of Sipsey continue to rebuild after an EF-2 tornado caused destruction.Residents say they will never forget the weather that destroyed their community as severe storm season continues.>> ALERT DAY: The latest forecastJonathan Roy Lee grew up in the town of Sipsey and says he watched a tornado destroy his community up close and personal. 鈥淚 was sitting right up there on this lot, and I saw some stuff blow by the truck and I looked in my rearview mirror, I was sitting facing the road, and I seen the funnel cloud, forming and kind of dropping out of the sky, I put my truck in park, or in drive, and stomped on the gas trying to get away and the truck kind of sputtered a little bit, and at the same time, it did that I looked in my rearview mirror again and seen that oak tree right there had fallen on my cousin's house,鈥� Roy Lee said.The aftermath still remains, Lee is one of the many continuing to clean his hometown and says he hopes to inspire others to keep their faith. 鈥淜eep praying and remember there is a God, you know what I mean and I think people should keep that in mind,鈥� Lee said.>> Full list: Schools delayed because of severe storms
