Kermit the Frog to deliver 2025 commencement address at University of Maryland

The University of Maryland has announced that Kermit the Frog will be delivering their commencement address this year.The school says the beloved muppet will offer words of optimism and encouragement as students embark on a new chapter in their lives. Kermit has a long history with the school. Muppets creator Jim Henson graduated from the university in 1960.The campus garden even has a bronze statue of Kermit and Henson. This is not the first time Kermit has given a commencement speech. He previously delivered a commencement address to the Southhampton College graduating class of 1996.
