There's a new acting sheriff in Calhoun County.The Alabama Sheriffs Association said Lynde Meeder was sworn in Tuesday as sheriff, replacing Matthew Wade, who retired effective April 1.Sheriff Meeder will serve until Gov. Kay Ivey makes an appointment to fill the position, said the association.Sheriff Meeder was second in command as Chief Deputy, and has been with the sheriff's office for 30 years, said the ASA.Coming Together: Project CommUNITY
