THE DEFENSE ATTORNEY SAYS THAT MASON AND BROOKLYNN GRIMES PLEADED NOT GUILTY TO CAPITAL MURDER TODAY. THEY WERE ARRESTED LAST MONTH ON MULTIPLE CHARGES, COURT DOCUMENTS IDENTIFYING MASON AS THE CHILD鈥橲 FOSTER FATHER. Not guilty. That was the plea for two people charged with capital murder of a foster child. Mason and Brooklyn Grimes were in court in Blount County Thursday in separate cases. Both are charged in the death of a child listed as a foster child of Mason Grimes. In a previous story, 米兰体育 reported that court documents state on Aug. 5, 2022, the child, then 3 months old, was placed into the Grimes' custody, where he "remained and flourished" for about a year.Then, on Sep. 25, 2023, the child was diagnosed with 鈥渕ultiple congenital disorders,' at Children's of Alabama, where a follow-up appointment was scheduled for Oct. 20.
