Just in time for World Autism Month, Dr. Michele Kong and her son, Juda, have released "Leo the Roarless Lion," a children's book about acceptance.

In a world where every voice matters, Dr. Michele Kong and her son, Juda, are making a meaningful impact with their heartfelt creation. Just in time for World Autism Month, the duo has released "Leo the Roarless Lion," a children鈥檚 book that resonates with families facing similar challenges."Leo the Roarless Lion" tells the story of a little lion born into a family known for their mighty roars. However, when Leo's first birthday arrives, he discovers he's unable to roar. As he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, Leo learns that, despite his silence, he still deserves to be loved and celebrated for who he is."This book reflects our journey as a family and the experiences of other families with invisible disabilities," Kong said.The book鈥檚 release at Little Professor Bookshop was celebrated with a community event where families had the chance to meet the author and illustrator. Juda, who illustrated the book, worked alongside his mother to bring this special project to life.Kong used this story to deliver a message of hope for families facing autism diagnoses."When Abram was first diagnosed, it was really hard, and it felt quite lonely," she said. "But this book is meant to show that a diagnosis shouldn鈥檛 limit you鈥攊t should fuel you with the knowledge that the world is full of possibilities."In addition to being an author, Kong is a doctor and also the co-founder of KultureCity, a nonprofit dedicated to sensory inclusion and acceptance.
