With the 75-day extension set to expire Wednesday, President Donald Trump is preparing to sign an executive order this week to extend the deadline for TikTok's Chinese owner to divest from the popular social media app.
Back in April, Trump signed a 75-day extension to keep the app running after it went dark for several hours. This time, Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, announced the new extension will last 90 days.
Speaking with reporters on Air Force One, Trump said he believes Chinese President Xi Jinping will approve a deal to turn over TikTok's business to the U.S.
If Trump signs the executive order, it will be the third time he has extended the deadline.
