Nate Oats doesn't want his team to fall for the 'rat poison' ahead of Elite Eight
Alabama is in a spot they have only been in once before, in the Elite Eight, with a chance to go to the Final Four.
The Crimson Tide took down No. 1 seed North Carolina on Thursday night in Los Angeles to get to this spot. The Tide have only been in the Elite Eight once before, in 2004.
Nate Oats is warning his players to not let their success impact their preparation for this upcoming game. He used a familiar line that Crimson Tide fans know well.
"I told our players coach Saban calls it rat poison all the time, but if you wanted, you could get on your phone and look on social media, type your name in and see hundreds of people talking about how great you are," said Alabama head coach Nate Oats.
If Alabama can make it to the Final Four, the Tide would go somewhere they have never been before.
Oats confirmed at the news conference on Friday that Alabama would fly back to Tuscaloosa before the Final Four in Phoenix if they were to make it that far.
Alabama and Clemson met up once before in the regular season. Clemson got the best of the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, 85 to 77.
