Samford's Martha Bishop making an impact in basketball and soccer

Samford's Martha Bishop making an impact in basketball and soccer
It started with some persistence. From Martha Bishop. I had to nag him *** little bit because it's like, you know, this has never really happened before after some emails to Coach Carly Konz in an individual workout. She made *** ton of shots that day in the workout and I'm like if this kid this kid hadn't even, you know, been, been practicing for years, so imagine what, you know, some practices under her belt and, and her being with this team will do for her. Bishop made it happen, going from *** SOCO title with the women's soccer team in November. To basketball by January. I don't want to waste the passion and the gift that the Lord has given me. Like I want at the end of the day, I don't want to have any regrets when it comes to the end of my college career. So if I have the opportunity to do this like I'm gonna want to take it. I'm gonna want to try. Bishop grew up playing but stopped after her freshman year in high school to do high-level club soccer. Now the defender is bringing her. I'm *** very physical soccer player and I think that translates onto the basketball court as well. Game to the. Sometimes I tell the people that are kind of on on the scout team, let's go about 50% speed. Martel gets about 10%. She gets about 10%. I'm like, you need you to scale it back. But her impact goes beyond that. It's rare in this day and age that you find people that don't put their palm up and just want, want, want, but just our give, give, give, and she's that type of kid. She's super grateful. It's the type of kid she is that soccer coach Todd Yelton has always known. It's incredibly impressive, but What's more impressive to me is the way that she approaches it and the humility that she shows in all of it as good an athlete. *** good an athlete as Martha is, she's *** better person. As she shows the younger generation what's possible. If they wanna try to do something like this, like it is possible and you can do it. It, it's not possible without awesome girls like these surrounding you every day and same for the soccer team too like the love I have for both teams has just made all this possible. Reporting in Homewood, Julia Mitchell, WBTM 13.
