In 1994, thirteen years into her tenure as an Associate Justice, she spoke to graduates of the Drake University Law School about the importance of the Supreme Court in curbing governmental powers.
She also talked about her humble beginnings, like how she learned to rope and brand a heifer before she was 10 years old.
