When Paul Skeens takes the mound, the seats are filled, energy is in the air. Don't just take it from me. Pirates manager Derek Sheldon has been around the game all his life. There's *** different atmosphere in the ballpark when he pitches and I think that's really cool and I think that's, you know, people have paid attention to it and I, and the fact that he was 11 and has got here in less than *** year, you know, and the fact that he's off to *** good start. Yeah, I do think there's ***, there's *** different buzz in our ballpark and I think our players enjoy that. This week, Paul Skeens became the first rookie pitcher for the Pirates to be selected to the All Star game. He is also the first player in the history of major league baseball to be named an all Star *** year after being the first overall draft pick Skeens is in rarified Air but for the Bucko faithful, the pitching star finds himself in *** familiar spot, *** young superstar who can be the foundation for *** successful long term future, not *** trade piece to the Yankees or Dodgers to allegedly build towards the future. We're for Paul Skeens, we're for the Pirates, but we are also for holding the Pirates ownership responsible. The Pirates have had one winning season since 2015. It's time to make October baseball *** regular occurrence on the North shore. Paul Skeens could be the cornerstone of *** winning team for years to come. "Everybody asks, how many boxes are there? How many packs are there? That information's never released. I mean, there's lots, but there are 200-plus rookies that have a similar patch, but there's only one Paul Skenes," he said. While fans were excited at the opportunity to find the lucky card, they said it might be worth more than what the Pirates are offering. "Like, a million dollars," 8-year-old collector Wolf Shumaker said. "I would also have some requirements for their minimal amount of payroll if I trade in that card for those tickets. I want to make sure I'm coming to see a good team," avid collector Bill Snyder added.
