Social Security Administration email generates questions from recipients
Did you recently receive an email that looks like it's from the ? If so, you may have some questions.
When it comes to your Social Security number or benefits, it's always a good idea to be cautious.
In this case, there is a legitimate email (see screengrab below) from the SSA with the headline, "There's still time."
It comes from an email that ends with .gov.
It tells you about how you can transition your online Social Security account.
There's a lot of information related to this transition, but here is the important part:
If you created an online username before September 2021, you will now be required to have an account with Login.gov or ID.me.

But going forward, the government says having access to the website will be the easiest and safest way to access your information.
