SpaceX Fram2 mission will be first human spaceflight to Earth's polar regions
BREAKING NEWS. AND THAT BREAKING NEWS IS THAT SPACEX HAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED ITS FRAM TWO MISSION FROM KENNEDY SPACE CENTER. THAT ROCKET JUST WENT UP MINUTES AGO. THANK YOU FOR JOINING US, EVERYBODY. I鈥橫 JESSE PAGON AND I鈥橫 MICHELLE IMPERATO. SO WE HAVE TEAM COVERAGE FOR YOU TONIGHT LIVE FROM OUR SPACE COAST. WE WANT TO BEGIN WITH WESH TWO鈥橲 MEGAN MORIARTY. MEGAN, YOU WANT TO WALK US THROUGH EXACTLY WHAT THESE ASTRONAUTS ARE GOING TO BE GOING TO BE DOING IN THEIR TRIP TO SPACE. MICHELLE AND JESSE, THESE ARE FOR FIRST TIME ASTRONAUTS, AND THEY WILL BE CONDUCTING A MISSION THAT WILL LAST BETWEEN 3 TO 5 DAYS. THEY WILL BE STUDYING MOSTLY HOW HUMAN AND OR HOW SPACEFLIGHT IMPACTS THE HUMAN BODY, THEY鈥橪L SPECIFICALLY BE DOING THE FIRST X-RAY IN SPACE. EARLIER. WE ACTUALLY GOT TO SEE THAT MACHINE MUCH SMALLER THAN A REGULAR X RAY MACHINE. BUT THE REASON THAT THEY鈥橰E DOING THIS IS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND HOW THE HUMAN BODY SPECIFICALLY, ALSO FEMALE BODIES ARE REACT IN SPACEFLIGHT. AND THIS WILL SPECIFICALLY HELP WITH THE LAUNCH OF ARTEMIS TWO. THAT鈥橲 EXPECTED FOR NEXT YEAR. THE LAUNCH WENT OFF BEAUTIFULLY, FLAWLESSLY, REALLY, AT 946, WHICH WAS WHEN THAT LAUNCH WINDOW OPENED UP. WE DID HAVE SOME BAD WEATHER EARLIER, BUT IT WAS A CLEAR SKY WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHTNING, BUT STILL A CLEAR SKY FOR LIFTOFF. NOW, ON FRIDAY, THE CREW DID SPEAK ABOUT THE UPCOMING MISSION HERE FROM THE COMMANDER. THREE, TWO, ONE IGNITION AND LIFTOFF. J-LOVE. AND. AND WE鈥橪L WORK TO GET YOU THAT SOUND LATER ON. BUT THE COMMANDER, CHUNWANG. HE IS AN ENTREPRENEUR. HE IS THE. HE鈥橲 THE COMMANDER OF THIS MISSION. AND HE WAS JUST SAYING THAT THIS IS A HUGE MISSION WHERE THERE WILL BE EXPLORING THE POLES, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE. SO THIS IS A REALLY BIG MISSION, LOTS OF RESEARCH THAT WILL BE DONE HERE. AND WE鈥橪L BRING YOU MORE ON THAT COMING UP AT 11, COVERING THE SPACE COAST. MEGAN MORIARTY, WESH TWO NEWS. YEAH, AND A REALLY EXCITING TIME HERE AT SPACE VIEW PARK. PEOPLE GOT TO SEE IT. THEY GOT TO HEAR IT AND EXPERIENCE IT. A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE LEFT. I WOULD SAY OVER 100 PEOPLE WERE OUT HERE AT THE PARK AT THIS HOUR. YOU CAN SEE A FEW FOLKS THERE JUST TAKING IN THE LIGHTNING SHOW. IT鈥橲 LIKE A TWO FOR ONE, BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THE LIGHTNING IN THE DISTANCE, AND THEN YOU GET TO EXPERIENCE THAT ROCKET LAUNCH. AND I鈥橫 HERE WITH A FEW FOLKS WHO REALLY TOOK IT IN. TIM AND VIDAL, THANK YOU BOTH, ACTUALLY, FROM AUSTRALIA, GUYS. SO WHAT WAS IT LIKE COMING TO SEE THIS TODAY? IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. SUPER CLEAR VIEW. AND YEAH, WE REALLY LOVED SEEING THE ROCKET LAUNCH. YEAH, ABSOLUTELY. AND WHAT DID YOU EXPECT TO SEE VERSUS WHAT YOU ACTUALLY SAW AND ACTUALLY HEARD? WELL, IN ALL HONESTY, I WAS EXPECTING A LOT OF DELAYS WITH THE ESPECIALLY WITH THE WEATHER GOING ON THE WAY IT WAS IN FLORIDA. ACTUALLY, I鈥橵E NOTICED THERE鈥橲 A LOT MORE THUNDER GOING BEHIND US. I鈥橵E NEVER SEEN THAT KIND OF THING IN AUSTRALIA. SO THAT WAS ONE THING THAT WAS DIFFERENT FOR US. YEAH. SO IN THAT WEATHER ESPECIALLY, I WAS LIKE, IT鈥橲 NOT GOING TO GO, IT鈥橲 GOING TO TAKE A WHILE. BUT IT WAS HONESTLY A GREAT EXPERIENCE. SO YOU GUYS WERE PREPARED TO GO THE DISTANCE TO LIKE 2 A.M. TO SEE THIS POTENTIALLY. YEAH. WE WERE GOING TO WAIT IN THE CAR IF WE NEEDED TO. WE HAD SNACKS READY. YEAH, WE WERE READY. SO WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE SNACKS? WE EAT THEM. YEAH. YOU GET TO EAT THEM LATER. SAVE SOME FOR LATER. A LOT OF PEOPLE GOING HOME HAPPY TONIGHT. PREPARE TO STAY THE NIGHT TO SEE. FROM TO LIFTOFF. THEY SAW IT THE SECOND. THE THE LAUNCH WINDOW OPENED. SO A LOT OF PEOPLE GOING HOME HAPPY TONIGHT. I鈥橫 COVERING THE SPACE COAST LIVE IN TITUSVILLE

The SpaceX Fram2 mission launched Monday night from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at the opening of its launch window, at 9:46 p.m. ET.Weather in the area, including thunderstorms, didn't stop the rocket's launch. This Fram2 mission will send four private astronauts from four different countries into orbit - Chun Wang (Malta), Jannicke Mikkelsen (Norway), Rabea Rogge (Germany), and Eric Phillips (Australia). The mission will take them into low Earth orbit on a trajectory that will pass over both of Earth's polar regions, a first for human spaceflight.Previously flown for Crew-1 to and from the International Space Station, the Dragon spacecraft will be used for the multi-day mission, during which 22 research studies will be conducted. The crew will be conducting the first x-ray in space, performing exercise studies to maintain muscle and skeletal mass, and growing mushrooms in microgravity. Data collected from these studies will be used to advance humanity's capabilities for long-duration space exploration and understanding of human health in space. This particular launch will be the sixth flight for the Falcon 9's first stage. SpaceX successfully landed the Falcon 9 first stage booster on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean several minutes after launch.
