New Hampshire fishermen catch massive swordfish; sell it to local seafood market
Two fishermen from New Hampshire had a catch of a lifetime after reeling in a swordfish that was nearly 500 pounds.
Elias Alexandropoulos of Ledge Runner Charters and his brother Kosta reeled in the massive swordfish on June 23. The brothers said the swordfish jumped out of the water numerous times, with the feat taking more than two hours to pull off.
"When we came across it, we were pretty shocked and we were just very, very happy," Kosta said. "Just in awe that we got the opportunity to even fight one."
The brothers said they brought the swordfish back to the Wentworth Marina in New Castle for preparation before it was sold to a local seafood market in Rye.

For experienced fishermen like Elias and Kosta, the swordfish was not the largest fish they've ever caught. The brothers said a tuna weighing approximately 800 pounds was their best catch ever.
However, the brothers said they are thrilled the swordfish was sold locally for Granite Staters and visitors to enjoy.
