Fire at Tesla charging station in Massachusetts being investigated as suspicious
TARGET. SMOKE BILLOWING ABOVE SEVERAL TESLA CHARGERS ON FIRE IN THE OVERNIGHT HOURS IN LITTLETON, A NEARBY RESIDENT REPORTING THE FIRE AROUND 1 A.M. THE FIRES WERE RELATIVELY SMALL, HOWEVER, AGAIN INVOLVING SEVEN OF THEM. THERE WAS QUITE A BIT OF SMOKE THAT WAS COMING OFF OF IT. SEVEN OF 12 CHARGERS DAMAGED AT THE TESLA STATION, LOCATED IN THE BACK CORNER OF A LARGE SHOPPING AREA OFF 495. IT IS PRETTY MUCH A QUIET AREA. IT鈥橲 A BIG PLAZA THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE USE. I THINK THERE鈥橲 A LOT OF LIKE SHOPPING, RESTAURANTS, MOVIE THEATERS AND STUFF LIKE THAT. NO ONE WAS HURT AND NO VEHICLES DAMAGED. FIRE INVESTIGATORS SAY IT APPEARS THE FIRE WAS INTENTIONALLY SET. SO THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL鈥橲 OFFICE, ALONG WITH THE LOCAL POLICE, ARE INVESTIGATING. SO AT THIS POINT, IT DOES APPEAR TO BE SUSPICIOUS. IT DOES APPEAR TO BE A SET FIRE. THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE AND PUBLIC FACE OF TESLA, ELON MUSK, IS NOW ONE OF PRESIDENT TRUMP鈥橲 TOP ADVISERS, LEADING THE DOGE TEAM TO LAYOFFS AND CUTS TO THE FEDERAL WORKFORCE IN LITTLETON, THE FIRE MARSHAL鈥橲 OFFICE SAYS NO MESSAGES OR NOTES WERE FOUND IN THE FIRE. WE HAVE NO INDICATIONS OF WHAT THE MOTIVATION MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN. NOW, INVESTIGATORS ARE URGING ANYONE FROM THE PUBLIC WITH INFORMATION. IF YOU SAW A PERSON OR A VEHICLE TO COME FORWARD, YOU CAN CALL THE ARSON OR ARSON WATCH REWARD PROGRAM AND YOU CAN FIND THAT NUMBER ON THE WCVB WEBSITE

Fire at Tesla charging station in Massachusetts being investigated as suspicious
Police and fire investigators are looking into a fire that damaged a Tesla Supercharger location in Massachusetts. Firefighters responded to the call after 1 a.m. Monday but, due to concern about the electrical nature of the equipment, could not immediately get to work extinguishing the fire, Littleton Fire Chief Steele McCurdy said. Firefighters had to wait for the equipment to be disconnected by the Littleton Electric Light Department. The chargers are located in a Littleton shopping center, northwest of Boston, that includes a movie theater, restaurants and a Market Basket grocery store. Sister station WCVB flew its news helicopter over the charging station Monday morning and saw that several of the white and red chargers were blackened. McCurdy said that members of the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal's office and the Littleton Police Department are investigating this incident as a suspicious fire and believe it was intentionally set.Over the weekend, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was the target of widespread protests outside the company's stores over his push to slash government spending on behalf of President Donald Trump. That included a Saturday protest in Boston. Critics of Trump and Musk hope to discourage and stigmatize purchases of Tesla, the electric car company that is the world's most valuable automaker. Liberal groups for weeks have organized anti-Tesla protests in hopes of galvanizing opposition to Musk's Department of Government Efficiency and energizing Democrats still demoralized by Trump's 2024 election victory.
