THAT鈥橲 HAPPENING LATER AT CITY HALL THIS MORNING. ROCKEFELLER PULL THE TRIGGER. THAT IS WHAT THE PEOPLE FEEL AT THE BUS. STARTED TOURING ALMOST 30 YEARS AGO AND WAS FOUNDED IN COLLABORATION WITH YOKO ONO. LENNON 米兰体育 13 MYA CALEB IS JOINING US LIVE FROM CITY HALL AND MYA. WHAT HAS THE TOUR BUS CREW BEEN UP TO SINCE ARRIVING HERE IN BIRMINGHAM? WELL, KARLE YESTERDAY THAT CREW WORKED WITH HIGH SCHOOLERS AT BIRMINGHAM TO CREATE A SONG THAT WILL BE FINISHED TODAY WITH TWO RECORDING STUDIOS AND A MIX ROOM, THE BUS ALLOWS THE YOUTH OR ANYONE ELSE THAT WANTS TO MAKE MUSIC, THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECORD PROFESSIONAL AND ORIGINAL PIECES. THE TOUR BUS STARTED AS A WAY TO GIVE YOUNG PEOPLE A CHANCE TO CONNECT WITH PROFESSIONALS IN THE MUSIC WORLD, MAKE MUSIC, AND EVEN TAP INTO VIDEO MAKING SKILLS. THE BUS IS MEANT TO GIVE THEM HOPE, MEANT TO GIVE THEM DIRECTION, MEANT TO GIVE THEM CONNECTIONS WITH PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY. ON WEDNESDAY, WE鈥橰E GOING TO BE DOING A PROJECT WITH GRAMMY IN THE SCHOOLS THAT鈥橲 BRINGING ABOUT 120 STUDENTS TOGETHER FROM BIRMINGHAM HIGH SCHOOLS TO TALK ABOUT ALL OF THOSE THINGS AND TO GIVE THEM SOME ACTUAL MEANINGFUL SKILLS. AND THE BEGINNING OF IDEAS ABOUT WHAT THEY MIGHT DO WITH THEIR LIFE AND AUDIO AND VIDEO AND BROADCAST. AND THAT BUS ISN鈥橳 JUST OPEN TO THE HIGH SCHOOLERS. A unique bus rolls into Birmingham for tours at city hall Tuesday to inspire the youth to explore creativity in music and videography. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus started touring almost 30 years ago in collaboration with Yoko Ono Lennon. A crew of three lives on the bus and travels around the country to provide opportunities for youth to create music, videos and short films. >> FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube With two studios and a mixroom, the youth and other visitors can use professional equipment to create their songs. Celebrities have even recorded songs on the bus."Wu-Tang clan, John Legend. So many, so many artists. Black Eyed Peas actually used the bus to create original songs that are now famous," said Brian Rothschild, the executive director and co-founder of The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. In addition to connecting the youth with opportunities in the music, video and broadcast fields, the goal of the bus is to spread peace. "The bus is meant to give them hope, meant to give them direction, meant to give them connections with people in the industry. On Wednesday, we're going to be doing a project with GRAMMY In the Schools that's bringing about 120 students together from Birmingham high schools to talk about all of those things, and to give them some actual meaningful skills and beginning of ideas about what they might do with their life in audio and video and broadcast," said Rothschild. On Tuesday, the tour bus crew worked with students from several Birmingham high schools to create a song. That song will be finished on Wednesday while the bus is at Birmingham City Hall. It'll also make a stop at UAB. The bus has been touring around the country since 1998 and features the Beatles co-founder's 1968 self-portrait on the outside."With John Lennon's name on it, there's something extra special, you know. There's a commitment to social justice.
