Three Bessemer City Schools teachers receive honors
Several teachers in the Bessemer school system received recognition recently.
According to a news release, the Jefferson County Commission issued resolutions to three teachers from Bessemer City Middle School on Feb. 6, 2025.
Dr. Yuvraj Verma received a resolution for being named a 2024 grand prize finalist of the National LifeChanger Teacher of the Year award.
Tiffany Wilson-Pugh and Farrah Cureton were issued resolutions for being 2025 nominees.

Dr. Verma teaches math, while Wilson-Pugh is a social studies teacher and Cureton teaches science.
