The Hoover Met is open to evacuees from Florida for Hurricane Milton, while already housing those who left because of Hurricane Helene.Bill Peloquin has lived in Orlando, Florida, for more than 60 years and says he's a full-time R.V.-er. Peloquin and his trailer made it all the way to Alabama from Florida.He said hurricanes are nothing to play with.鈥淓verything you own is replaceable, your life isn't. Get the hell out while you have opportunity. I'm quite worried. I have a niece that lives in St. Petersburg, a sister and mother-in-law that live just outside of Orlando, and I鈥檓 quite concerned cause I don't believe any of them are evacuating,鈥� said Peloquin.Mike Littrell and his wife escaped Hurricane Helene, but now he says he's ready to hit the road.鈥淲e have a place there in South Carolina which we have to go back to. Right after the hurricane, we had like five trees down, we were the only two houses that still had power, so we're going back tomorrow to clear those trees up and clear the property,鈥� said Littrell.Peloquin says he's thankful for the hoover met, but he plans to see home in the near future.鈥淚t's wonderful that they provide that option.
