Jon Paepcke is an investigative reporter who joined �������� 13 in November 2002.

Since arriving in the Magic City, Jon has uncovered numerous stories of consumer fraud and government corruption. Most notably, he has spent time covering a handful of high-profile federal fraud trials. They include the corporate fraud case against HealthSouth founder Richard Scrushy, the fraud case against former Gov. Don Siegelman and the bribery conviction of the Birmingham mayor at the time, Larry Langford. He also contributed to the station's extensive coverage of the April 27, 2011 tornadoes.

Jon has been humbled to receive a handful of television news awards over his career. They include the Alabama Broadcaster's Association award for Best Reporter, Associated Press awards for Best Spot News Coverage and Best Investigative Report and a trio of Regional Edward R. Murrow awards.

Jon hails from the riverside city of Columbus, Georgia. He graduated in 1997 with a degree in Broadcast News from the University of Georgia Journalism School. Jon was raised a Crimson Tide fan, and despite his academic credentials, he roots for Bama no matter who they play, including the Georgia Bulldogs. Jon enjoys spending time with his bride Jennifer, his son Jack and his daughter Julia. He is an active member of his church, where he enjoys teaching small groups on Sundays.
