Heavy rain and storms soak Alabama again Monday

Heavy rain and storms soak Alabama again Monday
I THINK A LOT OF US ARE READY FOR A BREAK. BRYLEE WE ARE GOING TO GET IT THIS WEEK. YEAH, TOMORROW LOOKS A LITTLE DRIER, BUT THEY鈥橰E ALREADY STORMS WORKING IN THIS MORNING. YES, SEVERAL THINGS TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT TODAY. TODAY IS THE FIRST WARNING IMPACT DAY. SO LET鈥橲 GET RIGHT INTO THE DETAILS. AND AS BRYLEE MENTIONED WE ARE TRACKING SOME STORMS, SOME PRETTY STRONG ONES. EVERYTHING IS BELOW SEVERE LIMITS THIS MORNING HERE ON FIRST WARNING LIVE RADAR. BUT THERE鈥橲 PLENTY OF THUNDER AND LIGHTNING AND SOME VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS TOO. ESPECIALLY NOW HERE IN SOUTHWESTERN TUSCALOOSA COUNTY. THERE鈥橲 RALPH AND FOSTER鈥橲. THERE鈥橲 DOWNTOWN TUSCALOOSA, AND THEY鈥橰E MOVING JUST A LITTLE BIT NORTH OF DUE EAST. SO I DO THINK THE DOWNTOWN TUSCALOOSA AND MAYBE EVEN NORTHPORT WILL BE CLIPPED BY THIS HEAVIER THUNDERSTORM. YOU CAN SEE THERE鈥橲 SOME FREQUENT THUNDER AND LIGHTNING WITH THAT. THE THE BULK OF IT KIND OF MOVING OVER TOWARD BIG SANDY AND EVENTUALLY IMPACTING MOUNDVILLE AS WELL. AND THEN WE鈥橵E GOT SOME ADDITIONAL STORMS BACK CLOSE TO ALICEVILLE AND PICKENS COUNTY AGAIN, FREQUENT THUNDER AND LIGHTNING LIKELY SOME GUSTY WINDS AND MAYBE EVEN A LITTLE BIT OF SMALL HAIL TOO. BUT SO FAR EVERYTHING IS BELOW SEVERE LIMITS. NOW, THIS ONE HERE IN TUSCALOOSA HEADING OVER TOWARD HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL, CLOSE TO 633. THEY鈥橰E MOVING AT ABOUT 20 TO 25 MILES AN HOUR. AS I MENTIONED, JUST ABOUT DUE EAST, HEADING OVER TOWARD DUNCANVILLE. 644 AND THEN COALING AROUND 711. YOLEN IF IT CONTINUES TO HOLD TOGETHER, MAYBE AROUND 15 TO 20 MINUTES AFTER 7:00. NOW, TODAY, AS I MENTIONED, IS A FIRST WARNING IMPACT DAY WITH MORE SCATTERED STRONG STORMS IN THE FORECAST GOING TO COME IN A COUPLE OF WAVES. WE鈥橵E GOT THE STORMS AROUND THIS MORNING, AND THEN WE鈥橪L LIKELY HAVE SOME ADDITIONAL STORMS THIS AFTERNOON. HAZARDS INCLUDE SOME DAMAGING WINDS, MAYBE EVEN A BRIEF TORNADO TODAY, TOO. IT鈥橲 STILL A LEVEL TWO OUT OF FIVE AS FAR AS THE SEVERE RISK, METEOROLOGIST BRYLEE BROWN IS GOING TO WALK US THROUGH THE FUTURE TRACK AND TALK A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THE THE HAZARDS WE鈥橰E EXPECTING WITH THESE STORMS TODAY. YES. SO ALL OF THEM ARE BELOW SEVERE LIMITS NOW, BUT WE EXPECT MAYBE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS ONCE WE GET SOME OF THE DAYTIME HEATING THAT THEY COULD STRENGTHEN A LITTLE BIT, ESPECIALLY DOWN ACROSS SOUTH ALABAMA. THIS IS 9:00 ON THE FUTURE TRACK AND YOU鈥橪L SEE THAT THEY ARE HEAVIEST REALLY SOUTH OF BIBB COUNTY, SOUTH OF CLANTON THROUGH LUNCHTIME. WE THINK WE GET A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK. NOW, THAT鈥橲 NOT TO SAY THERE COULDN鈥橳 BE A FEW STORMS AROUND, BUT COVERAGE ISN鈥橳 ALL THAT WIDESPREAD. AND THEN HEADING INTO THE AFTERNOON, WE鈥橵E GOT ANOTHER FEATURE COMING IN FROM THE NORTH AND WEST, KIND OF A FRONTAL BOUNDARY THAT WILL LIKELY HAVE SOME STORMS DEVELOP ALONG AND AHEAD OF IT. AND ON FIRST WARNING FUTURE TRACK. THESE LOOK PRETTY INTENSE. IF THE ATMOSPHERE IS ABLE TO BE UNSTABLE AND IT鈥橲 NOT WORKED OVER FOR MANY OF THE STORMS WE SEE THIS MORNING, ESPECIALLY OFF TO THE NORTH. AND SOME OF THESE COULD BE PRETTY ROUGH THIS AFTERNOON AND PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. YOU CAN SEE PRODUCING A LIKELY SOME HAIL TOO, WITH SOME OF THOSE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS. AND WE WILL EVEN WATCH FOR A BRIEF TORNADO, THOUGH THAT IS NOT ONE OF THE HIGHEST THREATS THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THIS EVENING. AND THEN THOSE SHIFTS OFF TO THE SOUTH AND EAST HEADING INTO A 6 P.M. 7:00 PM. IN ADDITION TO THE DAMAGING WIND THREATS AND EVEN SOME HAIL, WE ARE ALSO KEEPING OUR EYES ON THE RISK FOR SOME FLOODING TODAY WITH SOME LOCALIZED FLOODING POSSIBLE. OF COURSE, THE GROUND IS VERY SATURATED AND THEN WHEN YOU GET STORMS MOVING OVER THE SAME AREAS, THAT鈥橲 DEFINITELY SOMETHING TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. A LITTLE BIT DRIER THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. WE DO HAVE FEWER STORMS IN THE FORECAST FOR TUESDAY
