Three people are confirmed dead following the storms in Alabama.
The National Weather Service is surveying the damage and releasing initial results, including damage consistent with tornadoes stronger than EF-1 strength.
"Severe weather has impacted parts of our state," Alabama Power stated on its website Sunday afternoon. "Alabama Power crews along with additional linemen and storm resources have been working nonstop to restore service to customers. Your restoration time may vary as crews work to restore service. Thank you for your patience as our crews work safely. Please stay safe and avoid downed power lines."
