Another round of severe weather leaves more damage in Central Alabama

Strong storms rolled through Alabama again Sunday morning, bringing lots of rain, lightning and high winds.
There were several reports of trees down in areas including Hoover, Tuscaloosa, Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills and other areas about 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
One tree fell across a section of Colonnade Parkway, and as of 12:30 p.m., it was blocking all lanes going towards Hwy. 280, forcing many drivers to turn around.

Trees were reported down on some houses in Hueytown and McCalla as well.
No injuries were reported.
Doris Reel had a tree fall on her McCalla home during the storm while she and her husband Leonard slept.
鈥淕lass fell down, the rain poured in the tree, came through the skylight, and through our bathroom and other places in our bedroom,鈥� she said. 鈥淲e ran. My husband said, 鈥楪o right now. Leave before the walls fall in.鈥欌�
Debbie Hornsby said she and her Hueytown neighbors had 20 trees fall during the severe weather. She told 米兰体育 13 those trees were rooted in sentimental value 鈥� creating memories that will last for years.

鈥淭he picnics and the good stuff because it鈥檚 been a lot of things that have gone on over the years that have just been wonderful,鈥� she said. 鈥淜ids growing up 鈥� all the kids and all the grandkids come. It鈥檚 just fun for the whole family.鈥�
The Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency said more than a dozen homes had storm damage, most of had trees that fell onto the structures.
More homes are believed to be damaged in the northern part of the county and teams will be out to assess the damage Monday, the TCEMA said.
Most of the Central Alabama area remains under a marginal risk for storms Sunday afternoon and evening.
