Birmingham shootings leave 4 dead, 1 injured overnight Tuesday
Four shootings overnight Tuesday left four people dead and one other injured.
All of the shootings happened in less than 12 hours.
Two of the dead are teenagers, according to officials.
None of these shootings have been connected by police at this time.
7 p.m. Tuesday night
A person was hospitalized Tuesday night after being found with gunshot wounds inside of a crashed vehicle in North Birmingham.
Officers arrived to the 3100 block of 26th Street North just after 7 p.m. and found a person in the driver's seat of a crashed vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was taken to UAB Hospital.
9:50 p.m. Tuesday night
A Jackson-Olin High School football player is dead after being taken off life support Wednesday afternoon.
That's according to Birmingham School Board Member Jason Meadows.
Gerald Lomax, 17, was shot after a basketball game at Woodlawn High School Tuesday night.
10:30 p.m. Tuesday night
The Jefferson County coroner released the names of a 16-year-old and 21-year-old Thursday who were shot and killed inside a car in the Arlington-West End area on Tuesday night.
Joshua Wayne Parsons, 21, and Alexis Elizabeth Wise, 16, were found inside a car with bullet holes on the sidewalk of Princeton Avenue Southwest just before 10:30 p.m.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced them dead at the scene.
Wednesday morning
Officials said there was a gathering at the victim's house when a fight broke out.
The victim died from his injuries.
