NOW, JOHN? WELL, GUY, THERE鈥橲 BEEN A LOT OF CHANGES SINCE OUR LAST UPDATE ON THIS PROJECT IN JANUARY. TAKE A LOOK OVER MY SHOULDER. YOU CAN SEE THE BROWN SIDING ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE MAIN STAGE AREA IS BEING PUT UP. PLUS, THE CITY HAS BEGUN A $4 MILLION STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AROUND THE VENUE AS WELL. UPGRADES. THE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN COUNTING ON TO BREATHE NEW LIFE INTO DRUID HILLS. IT鈥橲 LIKE EVERY TIME YOU RIDE BY, IT鈥橲 JUST LIKE IT鈥橲 GETTING BIGGER AND BIGGER AND BIGGER AND CLOSE TO BEING FINISHED. THE FUTURE COCA-COLA AMPHITHEATER IS COMING INTO FORM. YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE 9300 SEATS ARE ALREADY BEING INSTALLED. THE BJCC TELLS US THE PROJECT IS ON SCHEDULE AND WORK SHOULD BE COMPLETE WITHIN TWO MONTHS. OUTSIDE THE MASSIVE WORK SITE, CREWS HAVE KICKED OFF THE CITY鈥橲 PROMISED INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS. THE CITY IS WORKING ON SIDEWALKS AND LIGHTING THAT WE DESPERATELY NEED IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. JANET MAYCOCK IS THE DRUID HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD PRESIDENT. WHILE SHE IS BLOWN AWAY BY THE PACE OF THE AMPHITHEATER鈥橲 PROGRESS. SHE AND HER NEIGHBORS HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THE LENGTH STAR UPTOWN PROJECT. ACROSS THE STREET. IS THIS PROJECT EVER GOING TO REALLY TAKE PLACE? YOU KNOW, AND SO, YOU KNOW, WE ARE WE ARE HOPEFUL. BUT I DON鈥橳 THINK WE鈥橰E TOTALLY CONVINCED. DEMOLITION WORK ON THE FORMER CARRAWAY HOSPITAL BEGAN NEARLY THREE YEARS AGO, AND IT IS STILL NOT COMPLETE. BUT WHILE WAITING FOR THAT 300 PLUS MILLION DOLLAR PROJECT TO GET OFF THE GROUND, MAYCOCK IS GLAD TO SEE ITS NEIGHBORING MUSICAL INVESTMENT SO CLOSE TO COMPLETION. BEING ON TIME AND ON SCHEDULE WITH THIS PROJECT IS REALLY GREAT. THE NEIGHBORS ARE REALLY HAPPY TO SEE IT HAPPENING SO IT CAN BEGIN TRANSFORMING THEIR HISTORIC CORNER OF BIRMINGHAM. ONE SHOW AT A TIME. NOW THE COCA-COLA AMPHITHEATER鈥橲 INAUGURAL CALENDAR IS ALREADY PACKED WITH 24 DIFFERENT SHOWS. ACTUALLY, COMEDIAN MATT RIFLE CHRISTENED THE $50 MILLION MUSIC VENUE ON JUNE

The future Coca Cola Amphitheater is coming into form.Some of the 9,300 seats are already being installed. The BJCC tells 米兰体育 13 the project is on schedule and work should be complete within two months.鈥淚t's like every time you drive by, it's just like it's getting bigger and bigger and bigger and close to being finished,鈥� Druid Hills Neighborhood President Janet Maycock said.Outside the massive work site, crews have kicked off the city's promised road infrastructure improvements. 鈥淭he city is working on sidewalks and lighting that we desperately need in this neighborhood,鈥� Maycock said.While she is blown away by the pace of the amphitheater's progress, she and her neighbors have concerns about the linked Star Uptown project across the street. 鈥淚s this project ever going to really take place, you know, and, so, you know, we are we are hopeful, but I don't think we're totally convinced,鈥� Maycock said.Demolition work on the former Carraway Hospital began nearly three years ago and is still not complete. However, while waiting for that $340 million project to get off the ground, Maycock is glad to see its neighboring musical investment so close to completion. 鈥淏eing on time and on schedule with this project is really great. The neighbors are really happy to see it happening,鈥� she said.Live Nation has already scheduled 24 shows between June and September. Comedian Matt Rife will christen the $50 million venue on June 22.
