JOSSIE CARBONARE. BACK TO YOU GUYS. AND AS FOLKS EVACUATED FLORIDA AND HEADED NORTH, SOME ENDED UP HERE IN ALABAMA. 米兰体育 13. S LISA CRANE LIVE AND LOCAL AT THE HOOVER MET WHERE EVACUEES ARE OFFERED FREE FACILITIES. LISA. YEAH THAT鈥橲 RIGHT. THIS HAS BECOME A VERY COMMON SIGHT WHEN HURRICANES THREATEN THE SOUTHEAST. THE RV COMMUNITY HERE AT THE HOOVER MET GROWS SIGNIFICANTLY. YOU CAN SEE ALL THE RVS BEHIND ME HERE. AND THIS IS JUST ONE ROE. THERE ARE MANY OTHER ROADS JUST LIKE THIS. VERY FULL RIGHT NOW. SO THESE PEOPLE, NOT ALL, BUT MANY OF THESE PEOPLE ACTUALLY CAME HERE TO AVOID THE WRATH OF EITHER HURRICANE HELENE MOULTON OR BOTH. THE STICKERS ON THE SIDE OF THEIR MOTORHOME SHOWS THE PLACES THE HERNANDEZ FAMILY FROM TAMPA HAS VISITED IN THEIR VACATION VEHICLE. BUT OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, IT鈥橲 BECOME THEIR WAY TO ESCAPE. IT鈥橲 NOT OUR FIRST RODEO. I MEAN, JUST LIKE THERE鈥橲 BEEN A LOT OF STORMS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS, YOU KNOW? BUT THIS ONE WAS DIFFERENT. YOU KNOW, YOU COULD TELL FROM THE BEGINNING THAT THIS ONE WAS GOING TO BE A IT鈥橲 GOING TO BE TROUBLE. AND IT WAS THAT THEY STAYED UP MOST OF THE NIGHT CHECKING IN ON RELATIVES WHO DID NOT EVACUATE. IT鈥橲 JUST THE SOUND OF THE WIND. AND IT WAS HOURS AND HOURS POUNDING. SO MY AUNT CALLED ME. SHE SAID IT WAS THE WORST NIGHT OF HER LIFE, AND IT WAS SCARY. THEY SAY, THANKFULLY, IT SEEMS THEIR HOME ESCAPED MAJOR DAMAGE, BUT THEY KNOW MANY OF THEIR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS AREN鈥橳 SO FORTUNATE. SAINT PETE WAS FULL OF DEBRIS FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE THEY WERE TRYING TO CLEAN UP. I HAVE FRIENDS WHO FLOODED FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE, SO RIGHT NOW THEY鈥橰E THEY DON鈥橳 KNOW IF THEY HAVE A PLACE TO GO BACK TO. SO THERE鈥橲 GOING TO BE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO NEED A LOT OF HELP. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE HERNANDEZ HAVE EVACUATED HERE TO THE HOOVER MET. THEY SAY KNOWING THEY CAN COME HERE WITHOUT A RESERVATION AND AT NO COST IS A BLESSING. THEY RECEIVE WITH GRATITUDE. WE WANT TO SAY THANKS TO YOUR COMMUNITY FOR BEING OPEN TO THIS, FOR ALL OF US. BECAUSE I MEAN, IF YOU LOOK AROUND, THAT鈥橲 THE FLORIDA, THE FLORIDA PLATES ALL OVER THE PLACE, YOU KNOW, SO JUST THE FACT THAT YOU鈥橰E OPEN, YOU KNOW, THE OPEN YOUR PLACES AND YOUR HEARTS TO US, IT MEANS IT MEANS THE WORLD TO US. NOW, WHILE THE HERNANDEZ SAY THEY COULD ACTUALLY HEAD HOME TODAY OR TOMORROW, IF THEY WANTED TO, THEY鈥橰E GOING TO HOLD BACK AND NOT LEAVE UNTIL SATURDAY. AND THEY鈥橰E ENCOURAGING OTHER EVACUEES TO DO THE SAME BECAUSE THEY SAY IT鈥橲 VERY IMPORTANT TO LEAVE THE ROADS AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE FOR EMERGENCY WORKERS LIKE LINEMEN AND OTHERS, TO BE ABLE TO GET INTO FLORIDA TO HELP THOS
