Jason Simpson is the chief meteorologist and joined �������� 13 in 2022.

Before coming to Birmingham, he worked as a principal scientist at Dynetics, Inc. and as a chief meteorologist in Huntsville.

Jason is an Emmy-award-winning meteorologist with over two decades of experience covering weather in Alabama. His career milestones include Hurricane Ivan; Hurricane Katrina; the April 27, 2011 tornado outbreak; the North Alabama flash floods of Christmas 2015; and keeping Alabamians aware and safe each day.

Jason graduated from Mississippi State University at the top of his class in 2001.
